Join the members of King Cross Readers’ Group to meet James Wheatley, author of Magnificent Joe. The book is set in a former pit village in the north east and tells the story of the friendship between Joe, a young man with learning difficulties and Jim, whose teenage mistakes are still affecting his life, and how their bond is tested to the limit by rumours of a terrible crime.
