Tomorrow, Thursday 11th November, 7.30pm JazzLeeds presents Greg Abate + Pete Rosser Trio. Greg Abate is a US jazz saxophonist, flutist, composer and international jazz recording artist and one of the hardest working and original bebop saxplayers. £16/14, 25s and under £8

On Saturday 13th November, 8pm, the result of a research and development process exploring resilience, desire and societal rejection, CVIVArts Theatre has created What Are You Hungry For? The show draws upon wide-ranging viewpoints from the community and various theatre techniques to offer three very different presentations of these themes. £10.

On Sunday 14th November, 1.30-4pm, it is JazzLeeds – Nishla Smith Quintet. Nishla Smith is a rising star jazz singer based in Manchester here with her new album ‘Friends with Monsters’. £10 full / £8 conc. Under 25s £5.

Also on Sunday 7th November, 7pm, test your knowledge with friends and family in a relaxed environment at the Seven Quiz . £5 per team.

Huddersfield Art Gallery has moved into its temporary space in Unit 7 in the Piazza in Huddersfield, launching with the Contemporary British Painting exhibition, which promotes the best of contemporary painting produced in the British Isles. The exhibition runs until 8 January 2022 and is open Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm.

Manasamitra have been weaving stories and music from around the world in their new performance Slumber Stories and there are two more dates coming up this month where you can enjoy these small and intimate performances. Performances are free, but booking is essential.

If you work in the music industry in Kirklees make sure you book onto Talking Heads: Creating routes to recovery for local music this Friday 12 November – meet others in the local music industry and find out about plans for supporting the sector through the music industry programme.

As part of marking Remembrance Day this year, the Band of the Yorkshire Regiment will be performing on Friday 12 November at Huddersfield Town Hall, with special guest Pipe Major Andrew Paton and soloists from the Band.
