With thanks to Country and Townhouse, here are five ideas of things to do in London this week:
|
How’s your festive diary looking? Mine’s luxuriantly full of
waist-expanding dinners and lunches (although I’m beginning to feel a bit
like Dawn French in the Christmas episode of The Vicar of Dibley).
Obviously, I’m not complaining after last year’s lockdown surprise, but if
you’re a little reticent to head out too much (there’s still a nasty bug
out there after all), I suggest throwing a bouji dinner party chez
toi. Light your seasonal
candle stash, serve up a few killer
homemade cocktails, tablescape the
hell out of your dining room and get
someone else to do the cooking. That’s my kinda party.
Have a great week.

A BRITISH
HOROPHILE'S DREAM
If you love watches and are looking for a truly original present, book a
tour of the HQ of
British watchmaker Bremont in Henley. A beautiful building in a
bucolic setting, you will never see anything quite like it. Bremont
manufactures everything from the movement to the case on site and it’s like
stepping into a modern living museum. We should be incredibly proud
that the English brothers have brought British watchmaking back here lock,
stock and barrel.

CHRISTMAS
JUMPERS
You gotta love a crimbo knit. But if you’re less lit-up reindeer nose and
acrylic and more intarsia wool and subtle motif (thank you, Burberry), head
over to our edit of the most stylish
jumpers around (though I wish I could fit the kids ones – super
cute).

DAVID
YARROW'S CHANGING LANES
I had the chance to hear this legendary photographer talk about his art in
person in a fabulous apartment on Park
Crescent, Regents Park (for sale, if you’re interested).
Want to find out how he got a lion to strut the catwalk? Hotfoot it down to Maddox
Gallery on Westbourne Grove to see for yourself – and,
better still, listen to this week’s Break
Out Culture podcast. Catwalk by David Yarrow, 2021
