Old Friends & New @ Seven
Coming up this weekend we've some old
friends in terms of bands & artists, plus one or two less familiar,
performing in Seven's Courtyard .
Our weekend pop-up, from this evening, Thursday 27 August 5pm until and
including Monday 31
August is Luigi's Street Food Italiano,
fabulous Italian food for eating in and takeaway.
Tomorrow, Friday 28
August, 6 -8pm a welcome return to one of our first post
lockdown bands, Tim & Simon.
Dusting down some classic covers to get Friday evening off to a flying
start, Tim Earnshaw from Rewind will perform with musician neighbour,
Simon Allen in Seven's courtyard. Pay
What You Feel donations.
On Saturday 29 August, 5pm - 7pm,
look forward to the Washboard Resonators
performing vintage swing, ragtime and jazz. Absolutely guaranteed to
lift the spirits and get feet tapping. Organised by Mewl Music. PWYF donations.
Afternoon Jazz on Sunday
30 August 1.30 - 3.30pm, blow the Covid blues away with John “Mr Blues” Taylor!
The music could be described as being quirky blues with the lyrical
content on the subject of John’s manifestations of life. Philosophy,
poetry, humour and groove! Organised by JazzLeeds. PAYF donations.
Seven is open on Bank
Holiday Monday 31 August and with two exciting music events
on offer. From 3-3.30pm,
as part of Leeds Opera Festival, Neil
(singer bass-baritone) and Chloe (violinist) from Northern Opera Group
will perform songs from popular 18th century ballard opera including
the Beggars Opera, Rosina and Love in a Village. This music would have
been showcased in pubs and public spaces in the 1700s and is a flavour
of how opera used to be performed.
Also on Monday 31
August 6-8pm, the excellent Soul Persuaders
who wowed audiences at Seven just a few weeks ago, return to Seven's
Courtyard with another uplifting and lively performance. PAYF donations.
All our music events are fully distanced with table service. Please
respect staff wishes if they ask you to move - this will only be for
the safety of customers. Also please donate generously - these are
tough times for musicians. Events are weather-dependent and maybe moved
inside of postponed if it rains..
We look
forward to seeing you at Seven very soon. Every £ spent at Seven helps
support high quality arts in a local setting.

I
believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent
than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always
triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I
believe that love is stronger than death.
