London Writers' Club Holly and the Green & Heaton Ltd. agency event, 19 November, London

With tips and details of the upcoming agency event, here is the latest LWC newsletter:

Book to film adaptations: what to watch in 2019

From Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials to Louisa May Allcott's coming-of-age story Little Women, these are the literary adaptions to watch out for on-screen this year.

Tips for beating writer's block

 Karen Foxlee (writer of YA)

Just keep writing until the water runs clear. Write what you think might happen. Write random snippets of dialogue. Write something else unrelated. Just write. It will feel terrible but eventually the good ideas and story will flow again.

Join us for our next LWC event on 19 November with Holly Faulks of the Greene & Heaton Ltd. agency

Holly Faulks says:

"In fiction I read across a variety of genres, though my taste tends towards the literary. My favourite books are those that are intimate in their conception, yet far-reaching in thematic scope. In non-fiction I am looking for stories of unusual lives told in an original way.  In all genres I'm keen to hear from under-represented voices and to champion stories that may have been overlooked."

Upcoming events with LWC

Upcoming events are being booked in so do put these dates in your diary:

November 19: Holly Faulks of the Greene & Heaton Ltd. agency
December: no event but members will receive daily writing tips throughout the month
2020
January 21: Hattie Grunewald of The Blair Partnership
February 25: Ludo Cinelli of the Eve White Agency
March 24: Florence Rees of the AM Heath literary agency
April 21: Hannah Weatherill of Northbank Talent Management

We deliberately keep the events on a small, intimate scale to allow writers to ask the questions they'd like to and to connect to other writers in the room. For this reason, we have a maximum of 40 tickets for each event. Book now for October if you'd like to secure a seat.
Members can grab a seat for free but let us know so we can put your name down on the guest list. We ask members to confirm seats once we open tickets - four weeks before each event, rather than booking for months in advance!
