Terrace Gallery & Harewood Contemporary
A 30-year milestone

In 1989 artist and curator Diane Howse (now the Countess of Harewood) launched the first dedicated contemporary exhibition space in an English Country House, the Terrace Gallery. From 21 September, come and watch a specially commissioned film Postcard to the Future which marks this remarkable milestone, and see highlights from the last 30 years' exhibitions and commissions. We will also be shortly launching a microsite showcasing the past three decades. Keep your eye on our social media for more news!

Lights, camera, action!
Downton Abbey & Harewood on Film

It's 1927 and the Crawleys of Downton Abbey are a flutter as they excitedly await a royal visit. Details of the Downton Abbey plot have been a closely guarded secret for months and all will be revealed from tomorrow. Harewood was delighted to act as the backdrop for several scenes during Julian Fellows' latest blockbuster. Lord and Lady Harewood, and Trust Director Jane Marriott, were lucky enough to attend the premier in London.

To celebrate the release, anyone wearing Downton period costume can get free entry on Friday 13 September, and throughout October you can discover our Harewood On Film display in the Servants' Hall. Keep an eye on Facebook for more details!
