You Pay What You Decide

The Flanagan Collective & Gobbledigook Theatre

words by Alexander Wright
music by Phil Grainger

Internationally award winning modern re-teling of an ancient myth.

Dave is single and turning 30. He’s stood at the bar.
Eurydice is a tree nymph.
And Bruce Springsteen is on the juke box.

A tale of impossible, death defying love told through hair raising spoken word and soaring soul music.

The Flanagan Collective and Gobbledigook Theatre weave a world of dive bars, side streets and ancient gods.

This show is “Pay What You Decide” - you decide how much to pay after you have taken part.

The show has a limited capacity, so if you change your mind before the event, please let us know by emailing boxoffice@slunglow.org  to ensure we don’t turn others away unnecessarily.

Please note that the venue is cash only.

Please note that the event takes place up one set of stairs. There is a new stairlift on our main staircase. We have recently taken over the running of the venue and are currently raising funds for a lift to make the theatre fully accessible later this year.

If you would like to discuss your access requirements, don’t hesitate to give us a call on 07704582137.

We have recently installed a new lockable bike shed outside the front door. There’s a free car park at the club as well. The street immediately around the club is permit-holders only but there’s permit free parking on Holbeck Moor Road, which is the road that runs alongside the park just down the road.

👨🍳 🍷
Looking for something different to do this Memorial Day Weekend? (Seriously, how many BBQs and cook-outs can one person attend?!)
Grab your friends, family, or significant other(s) and join Hungry Pop at Kesté Pizza & Vino Fulton, located at 77 Fulton Street, on Sunday afternoon for a taste of Chees-us and test out your mozzarella-making skills.
If you’re looking for the most interactive food experience unlike any other happening in New York City right now, this is it-- or, kesté, as they say in Naples!
🍕🥂
How about rolling up your sleeves and learning how to make a neo-Neapolitan pie from scratch-- practically however your lil’ heart desires, with as many toppings as you can imagine-- and then devouring your very own creation after it's tossed in the oven?!
All the while, you sip on bottomless mimosas or Prosecco and get served two amazing appetizers like homemade breakfast fries, fresh garlic bread with house-made ricotta, or even meatballs topped with freshly grated Pecorino Romano cheese. Oh, and to top it all off, what better way to finish off this bottomless brunch than with a deliciously divine Nutella bread pudding? (We know. We had you at Nutella. SAME.)
Short Story Selection
Mist is essentially immortal, a Valkyrie sworn to protect the great god Odin’s mighty spear Gungnir.
It has been a long time since she’s heard from any of the gods and believes them to be dead. Naturally, her next step is to settle down in San Francisco.
There she makes a new friend and meets a man who, in her opinion, is everything a Viking Warrior should be.
Love involves something that’s hard to come by as an immortal living among humans, trust.
Make 🍕 Drink 🍷
Because Summer Fridays officially go into effect starting next week, Hungry Pop has released Thursday evening tickets for 'Make Pizza, Drink Wine' in June! (Because Thursdays are now the new Fridays, amirite?!)
And if you're looking for the perfect summertime date night for Saturdays, they gotchu covered as well!
