With triumphal trumpets and atmospheric moments that summon up the heat and sand of Aida's desert setting, our production is both a visual and aural treat and a unique way to experience the power of opera. Coming to a concert hall near you This May, witness a dramatic concert staging of Verdi’s spectacular opera Aida. Verdi's tragic story of forbidden love sees the captured Aida secretly in love with enemy general, Radamès, who returns her love. When Radamès is selected to lead a renewed assault against the enemy, Aida is forced to choose between betraying her country and betraying her heart. This new concert staging reunites the creative team from our ★★★★★ 2017 production of Turandot, and features an international cast, the Chorus of Opera North and the full Orchestra of Opera North live on stage, right at the heart of the action.
