Things to do this weekend in Leeds, London and New York

Not sure what to do this weekend? Here are a few ideas for those of my followers who live in Leeds, London and New York:

In a digital world, having the opportunity to connect face-to-face with like-minded individuals can be somewhat of a rarity. The more you attend events, the more you meet people face to face, the more you expand your network and the more you position yourself for opportunities. You never know who you will meet at the next event and for that reason alone, you need to go to as many as possible. Convinced? Check out these upcoming events near you!

What to Do This Weekend:

6 Things to Do

Happy Friday! Need some inspiration for how to spend this weekend? We've rounded up the six best things to do in London, the UK and beyond. Plus, there's a very special invitation for you at the bottom of this week's email...

For the evening commute: Listen to this week's House Guest podcast with Interiors Editor Carole Annett and Lewis Taylor at David Collins Studio.

Went with one of our suggestions? Had a blast? Tell us about it by tagging us on Instagram and Facebook

What's On in London?

There’s nothing quite like seeing a brilliant movie on a big screen. If it’s independent cinemas with colourful histories, design quirks, luxe features and plenty of character that float your boat, you’re in luck. The capital is blessed with a flourishing indie picture house scene, and we’ve scouted out 15 of the best independent cinemas in London.

Just when you thought Sketch
couldn’t get any more Instagrammable, the entirety of No. 9 Conduit Street is being transformed into a series of immersive gardens to coincide with Chelsea Flower Show. A number of floral-inspired menus will be available for guests across the dining emporium
, 16-27 May. Discover the best bits with our guide.

For your culture fill this weekend, head to Pimlico Road where renowned interior design firm Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler will be hosting an exhibition of Jacqueline Rufus Isaac's paintings at one of their showrooms. Coinciding with the Chelsea Flower Show, the paintings are a beautiful exploration into flowers, with an emphasis on colour.

What's On in the UK & Beyond?

Welcome to Guernsey, where haute interiors are hoarded and honesty is the best policy. Pop over the channel to an island proud of its idiosyncrasies - this weekend, why not take a weekend trip to Guernsey?

There’s nothing quite like dining on a boat. Whether you’re docked in the harbour or cruising down the river, floating eateries give your meal that extra pizzazz, that special something. Luckily the UK has a flurry of boat restaurants, from grand superyachts to cosy barges, which offer great food as well as the fun factor. Peruse our pick of the UK’s best boat restaurants!

Menconi + Schoelkopf presents a group of extraordinary canvases from this brief and powerful period as a painter, along with signal early examples of his wall-relief sculpture.

Short Story Selection
We could never imagine a life without our technology, as it has become an innate part of everything society does. If all the technology was fried by the sun, what would our society look like? How would it change?
In this world, living away from the sun is a somewhat necessity, and crimes are a little different. When two siblings father is accused of a crime, the son becomes an integral part of his punishment, so how can they help?
🍕🥂
Whether you're a native New Yorker or just recently moved here from another city, state, or country, there's one time-tested tradition that every New Yorker knows all too well: brunch. It is the quintessential New York City weekend extravaganza.
Hence, the wildly successful and sold-out interactive food experience 'Make Pizza Drink Wine' (now in two locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan) has officially spawned its very own Sunday brunch rendition in Queens, 'Make Pizza Drink Bubbly: Long Island City'.
👨🍳 🍷
Gain hands-on experience from Keste's owner Mr. Caporuscio and his staff, and you’ll also enjoy complimentary glasses of house red and white wines for the afternoon while learning first-hand about fresh mozzarella from this infamous dairy farmer turned Neapolitan pizza-maker.
