Setting up as a Creative Freelancer, 28 February

Here are details of the Creative Scene event as part of Freelance Thursdays:

Creative Scene

Thursday 28th February 1-3pm: Freelance Thursdays continues with a free workshop on setting up as a freelance creative!

Freelance Thursdays continues next week, and this time we are welcoming Anna Turzynski, independent arts producer and Associate Producer for Leeds-based Riptide, for a two hour workshop at Brigantia in Dewsbury which will take you through all the steps involved in setting up as a freelance creative.

Anna works across a variety of organisations: managing projects, facilitating art, sourcing funding, and supporting artists - and has successfully built a career as a creative freelancer.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who is interested in taking their creative career to the next level and gaining clarity on the process of becoming a freelancer, which we know can be daunting without guidance! The workshop will cover finances, applying for contracts, and much more.

The session will run from 1-3pm on Thursday 28th February. To book on please email jack@creativescene.org.uk, who will get back to you confirming your place.

This is part of a range of opportunities that will be available this year at Brigantia, our creative meeting and making space in the heart of Dewsbury. Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements of inspiring new events, including taster sessions and industry talks!

Creative Scene is one of 21 independent Creative People and Places projects across the country, funded by Arts Council England in areas where there are fewer opportunities to get involved with the arts.

It is about more people choosing, creating and taking part in brilliant art experiences in the areas where they live, work and socialise. 91% of our audience come from neighbourhoods with low and medium levels of arts engagement.
