Book Machine newsletters

Here are the latest Book Machine newsletters:

We are back at LBF!

Hello publishing friends,

How are your London Book Fair preparations going? We can't wait to see those of you who are attending.

Since 2013, BookMachine has run an annual networking event at the Fair - it's a highlight in many a book fair diary, and 100s of people sign up each year. We founded BookMachine to help publishers, editors, designers, production managers, authors, tech-types and marketing/PR pros to meet each other. At this event (4.30 on the Wednesday) you are bound to meet someone interesting to work with; it attracts such a fascinating crowd.

So book your ticket today to:
  • Meet people working across the industry
  • Get half-price entry to the Fair (normally £45 a ticket)
  • Meet the BookMachine team (and find out more about 2019 events)
  • Grab a free drink! (for the first 100 to arrive)

We would like to thank The London Book Fair and Geethik Technologies for sponsoring the drinks - we always meet in the Buzz Bar at The London Book Fair as it is the heart of the Tech area, the intersection of where book publishing meets disruptive technology.

Geethik Technologies are known and respected for their attention to detail, unrivalled turnaround times and extremely competitive prices. Free trials available for both typesetting and ebook conversions.

If you are a BookMachine member you can get free entry to the Fair. We will be sending you your special link early next week. We also have a FREE ticket to the ever-popular LBF Monday conference, Quantum - details will be in your email. If you aren't a member yet, what are you waiting for?

See you soon!

Hi!

It's Laura from BookMachine here and I would like to announce that there are just 4 WEEKS TO GO until the first Unplugged event of 2019 on The business of accessibility: content that is more usable is more valuable.

This jam-packed soirée takes place on Wednesday 20th February 2019 at The Century Club, Soho.

From 6.30pm the Club Room bar will be open for drinks. You will be greeted by myself and Suzanne; and will have the opportunity to MEET AND MINGLE with Team Unplugged (our in-house team who represent the event series), our speakers, sponsors and other guests.

Ken Jones (Director, Circular Software) will be hosting the talks, which will start at 7.30pm. He will be joined by Huw Alexander (COO and Co-Founder, textBOX), Stacy Rowe (Service Manager, RNIB Bookshare), Alicia Wise (Senior VP for Global Strategic Networks at Elsevier and a founding member of ABC). The panel will discuss WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO BE ACCESSIBLE as well as why and how you can make it happen.

The talks will close with a short awards ceremony, given in recognition of the work being done in the industry on accessibility by top publishers and vendors.

Early bird tickets have sold out, but there are still a limited number of £10 tickets still available.

Thanks to our Unplugged 2019
