Brighouse Cinema and Brighouse Festival details

It's entertainment time in Brighouse!

Starting this Thursday (October 20th) it's entertainment all the way in Brighouse. Brought to you by our new charity "Arts for Brighouse", whose aim is to put Brighouse firmly on the arts and entertainment map.
The Brighouse Cinema is presenting "Florence Foster Jenkins" a light hearted film based on the true story of a wealthy but misguided soprano starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
Doors open at 7pm at the Assembly Rooms on Thursday (October 20th). Tickets, £5 from Harrison Lord and Ryecorn Wholefoods or on the door. See the trailer here
Then on Saturday 22nd the eagerly awaited Brighouse Festival starts. With 50 events over 9 days covering art, music, comedy, theatre, literature, history, cinema and children's entertainment there's something for everyone to enjoy.
 
 
Headlining on the opening day. Saturday 22nd, is our very own Roger Davies in concert with the Drighlington Brass Band at the Central Methodist Church, 7.30pm Buy ticket here  £12
 
On Sunday 23rd October we have the cast of the Kinks musical, Summer Afternoon, direct from London's West End, playing all the Kinks top hits. Brighouse Civic Hall, 8pm Buy tickets here £15
Top Class Comedy
Hilarious "Him off the Telly" comedy night starring Nathan Carlton, Archie Kelly, Anthony J Brown and Jack Carroll. Nathan Carlton is on a UK tour and has appeared on Live At The Apollo (BBC1), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3), Mock The Week (BBC2).
Wednesday 26th October, 8.00pm at Pregos's Restaurant. £12

String Quartet recital
An evening of entertaining string quartet music.
Formed from members of the Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra lead by cellist Graham Smelt.
A great night which will appeal to all music lovers…not to be missed!
Brighouse Library, Monday 24th 7.30pm £7.50
 
The Brighouse Festival needs your support! It is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers who have given hundreds of hours to bring this feast of entertainment to Brighouse. We need help to run all of these various events.
