Seed Fund - Call out

Beam is delighted to announce this year’s dates for Wakefield Lit Fest which will run from 18 - 27 September 2015 with support from Arts Council England, Wakefield Libraries and others.

Following on from the success of last year’s ‘Seed Fund’ community organized events, Beam is inviting people with great ideas celebrating reading, writing and words to submit an event proposal for the 2015 Wakefield Lit Fest ‘Seed Fund’ programme.

The ‘Seed Fund’ can provide some funding (up to £200), marketing support and other benefits to help support independently organised events as part of the Lit Fest. All events selected will be included in the main Lit Fest programme, and promoted on the website and through social media channels.

Beam want to enable groups and individuals from across the city and district to get involved with the festival by producing their own independent events which could be a reading, a spoken word performance, poetry, a book launch – Lit Fest are open to ideas! Previous experience isn’t essential as one-to-one advice surgeries for successful applicants will be available for those who would like support to help get their event off the ground.

Up to ten projects can be supported and Beam is seeking proposals for events that complement the festival programming, within the festival dates. There may also be additional help available in finding a venue for the event.

The deadline for proposals is Wednesday 24 June, 12 noon.

Please visit the Beam website for details about how to apply or call 01924 215 550.
