Maxine Peake
Ilkley Literature Festival in collaboration with West Yorkshire Playhouse are delighted to announce that Maxine Peake (known for her roles in TV's Silk and Shameless) will be in Ilkley on Sunday 8 June to talk about her theatre writing debut for the West Yorkshire Playhouse - a specially commissioned adaptation of Peake's acclaimed 2012 Radio 4 play celebrating the extraordinary sporting achievements of Morley cyclist, Beryl Burton. With James Brining, Artistic Director of West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Friday 20 to Sunday 22 June -Poetry in the City at the World Curry Festival
Readings by Simon Armitage, Roger McGough, Ian McMillan, Patience Agbabi and more. Writing masterclasses and workshops, fun family events for parents and children, a multi-lingual Mushaira and free activities for all ages alongside delicious food at the World Curry Festival taking place in the heart of Bradford. All day Saturday 28 and 7.30pm Sunday 29 June - Cycling Words
Exciting events with some of cycling’s best writers including Ned Boulting, Richard Moore and Peter Cossins, a cycling words workshop with Char March and a free outdoor performance of Bike Story at Ilkley Lido. Find out more.

Fame Factor Club Night
 
Our next young people's club night is taking place on Saturday 17 May 2014 and we're looking for talented young bands and singer/songwriters to take part.
 
It’s set to be the biggest club night of the year as bands and performers battle it out to win a recording session at the fully equipped Woolpack Recording Studio! Find out more.

Otley Courthouse 10th Birthday
 
Join our partners, Otley Courthouse, to celebrate their 10th birthday!
 
In 2004, a community came together to turn a disused magistrate’s court into a beautiful arts and resource centre for everyone. 
10 years later, Otley Courthouse are holding events throughout the whole month of May to celebrate how far they've come, with highlights including Ian McMillan, New Rope String Band and BBC The One Show's science presenter, Marty Jopson.
