Read Regional Poetry Discussion Group tomorrow

Having met the lovely Jenny Savill, Agent at Andrew Nurnberg Associates, at the fascinating and informative Meet the Agent/Editor event at HLF2014 (review to follow), I have sent the first three chapters of my middle grade fantasy novel Thorde, a one-page synopsis and covering letter to her as a submission.  I expect to hear back within 3 months, as per their response time, so fingers crossed.

Read Kirklees have let me know about a Read Regional Poetry Discussion Group taking place tomorrow: poetry discussion workshop for World Poetry Day led by poet Linda France that is part of Read Regional.

Linda will be reading and discussing contemporary poetry including the poets that have been selected for Read Regional which this year are Mark Robinson, Cara Brennan, and Tara Bergin.

Linda works as a poet, tutor, mentor and editor, often collaborating with visual artists, particularly in the field of Public Art. Since 1990 her poetry (including The Simultaneous Dress & The Toast of the Kit Cat Club, from Bloodaxe Books) has won many awards and prizes as well as being carved into stone and wood, cast in metal, etched in glass, stitched onto fabric and printed on enamel. Her recurring themes are landscape and history, flora and fauna, love and identity. At Durham Book Festival 2012 Linda launched her 'Botanical' project - a long-term period of research and development towards a new full-length collection centred on plant life, ecology and climate change.
