The Polari Up North event last night was fantastic. Featuring Adam Lowe, VG Lee, Keith Jarrett and Mari Hannah, the event was hosted by Paul Burston. The audience was treated to performance poetry, readings from books and poetry collections and lashings of good humour.

prize shortlisted novelist, who has announced his retirement from writing.
