HLF 2014 events 9 March - Gwyneth Hughes and Jim Crace

The Polari Up North event last night was fantastic.  Featuring Adam Lowe, VG Lee, Keith Jarrett and Mari Hannah, the event was hosted by Paul Burston.  The audience was treated to performance poetry, readings from books and poetry collections and lashings of good humour.

The event includes a short talk by noted Darwin biographer, Professor James Moore, and an exciting performance, including sea shanties, music and dance, from the Andrew Mitchell Collective.

Huddersfield Literature Festival 6-16 March 2014


Gwyneth Hughes in Conversation Sunday 9 March, the award-winning TV screenwriter talks about her career and recent BBC film, The Girl, which tells the story of Alfred Hitchcock's obsession with Tippi Hedren.
 

Jim Crace In Conversation Sunday 9 March, a retrospective of the twice Booker prize shortlisted novelist, who has announced his retirement from writing.
