Plays wanted for Hebden Shorts, deadline 31 March 2014

Sharpen your pencils, fire up your laptop –  Hebden Shorts are back and 2014 promises to be one of the most exciting years yet.

Six short plays will be selected in a competition open to writers across Calderdale.  The plays will be performed at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre between 27-29 June as part of our festival line-up for 2014.

Last year half of the shorts selected were by new writers, giving them a fantastic opportunity to work with a team of professional actors and directors and showcase their writing.

Submissions are also open for the Kids Shorts season where young writers aged 18 and under and who live in Calderdale have a chance to have their work performed on stage. Last year ten year old Alfie Dermo from Hebden Bridge saw his play about the English Civil War performed by local professional actors.

To enter please send your play by email to hebdenshorts2014@hbaf.co.uk by Monday 31 March. Plays must be no longer than 15 minutes and winners will be notified by mid-April. See our terms and conditions for the official stuff.
