Bloomsbury Publishing writing weekend 20-21 April 2013

Had an excellent day at the Leeds Writers' Festival today.  I attended the Miles Salter 'Great Story Openings' workshop in the morning and the Alison Taft 'Heroes and Villains' workshop in the afternoon.  I will be posting a full review of the event tomorrow.

We’ve crafted a very special writing weekend, in partnership with Psychologies magazine, with two prize winning authors, Liz Jensen and Romesh Gunesekera.
 
Leading the Saturday writing workshops are Liz Jensen, the bestselling author of eight acclaimed novels, three times nominated for the Orange Prize for Fiction for Egg Dancing, Ark Baby and War Crimes for the Home and Romesh Gunesekera, a Goldsmiths College creative writing tutor, and author of four novels: Reef, which was shortlisted for both the Booker Prize and the Guardian Fiction Prize,The Sandglass, winner of the inaugural BBC Asia Award, Heaven's Edge, shortlisted for a Commonwealth Writers Prize and The Match.
 
They will be joined by NYU writing mentor and author Emma Claire Sweeney and editorial consultant Cressida Downing ofthebookanalyst.co.uk.
 
On Sunday you’ll find out how to get your book published with our experts, thriller writer and entrepreneur Joanna Penn and editor of The Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook,Alysoun Owen. To top it off, pitch your book to literary agents over a glass of wine at our Bloomsbury Publishing offices.
