Hello
When I looked at the dates of the upcoming Writing Days: Poetry, I realised I could set myself up to finish the year with some strong writing under my belt.
There’s nothing like learning specific techniques from an expert in their craft. And when it comes to Hannah Lowe, we know she’s skilled both as a writer and a teacher.
The day is split into two parts:
A morning of creation: We’ll look through selected poetry to highlight key techniques and approaches. Then we’ll undertake writing exercises to play with poetic voice, form, and point of view.
An afternoon of revision: Focusing on poems we wrote in the morning, we’ll learn how to develop and refine the text to strengthen key aspects of our poems.
The day is designed so that we take away drafted ideas, as well as a set of skills to apply to our future writing.
So why not join me for our latest Writing Day: Poetry? That way, you can spend the rest of the year immersed in crafting stanzas, writing poems you’ll be keen to share.
I’m going to attend the masterclass on Friday 23 October, but it also takes place on Sunday 25 October if that’s better for you. The day runs from 10am-4pm and tickets cost £100.
If, like me, you want to spend the rest of your year writing, this is the injection of expertise we need.
See you next week,
Lucy
