Into the Woods online writing course

Course is run by Anna Chilvers:

Hi everyone,
At the beginning of November I'm starting a six-week online course called Into the Woods. We will look at the history and mythology of woods, their place in our cultural imagination, and why they are where we go to find our inmost selves. Why are so many fairy tales set in forests?  We will also look at the ecology of woods, from the tree canopy down to the Wood Wide Web of mycellium beneath the forest floor, and all the life between, including our own. How do trees communicate with each other? How can we communicate with the world of the forest. How can our writing enter and reflect the world of the wild woods?

I've written a substack about the course and the themes here, if you'd like to read more..

This class is suitable for writers of poetry and prose, for beginners and more experienced writers.

At the end of the course you will have the opportunity to submit a piece of work for feedback.

The course starts on Monday 2 November and runs for six weeks. The classes will be held on Zoom from 7-9pm. The cost is £135 or £94.40 low income. You can book through eventbrite here, or directly with me.

Best wishes
Anna
