Easter continues
at Harewood

Following your lovely feedback about
the Rainbow Rabbit Easter Trail we have decided to extend the trail until
Sun 14 April.
Pick
up a trail for £2 from our Visitor Information Centre and take on a race
around the Lakeside path to find all the colourful eggs and join in on
the challenges in our Rainbow Rabbit Arena.

maintenance repairs.
Originally introduced in 2018 as an access ferry, it plays
a crucial role in ensuring continued accessibility at Harewood.

over to the Walled Garden and even enjoy a toastie at the Bothy Teahouse?

THE NEW
LIFF SPRING FILM WEEKENDER OPENS WITH LOVE LIES BLEEDING
April 26

You don't
have to wait until November for your next LIFF experience! We
are thrilled to launch the new LIFF Spring Film Weekender with
previews and more from 26-28 April at Vue in The Light.
The
Weekender opens on 26 April with Love Lies Bleeding, the
long-awaited new film from Rose Glass, director of Saint Maud.
On 27 April, we present the Oscar-nominated Four Daughters from
Tunisia, Romanian satire Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of
the World, the captivating and mysterious Blackbird Blackbird
Blackberry from Georgia, and dark comedy horror Sleep from
South Korea.
On 28 April,
we present: two Venice Film Festival award winners,
beautifully-nuanced coming-of-age story City of Wind from
Mongolia and powerful refugee drama Green Border from Poland;
the heartbreaking drama Àma Gloria from France; and the
Weekender closing film La Chimera, the latest magical cinematic
treat from Italian Alice Rohrwacher, director of Happy as
Lazarro and The Wonders.
To make the
most of the weekend, we also have a special ticketing discount.

some experience and you want to gain more? We are
excited to offer 17 paid short-term freelance
opportunities with Leeds International Film Festival in
2024 and 2025, available across 10 different roles and
for different levels of experience. The roles include
programming the International, British and Yorkshire
short films competitions, and animated, documentary,
and fantastic shorts.

FESTIVAL CONTINUES AT CARRIAGEWORKS AND ON TOUR
30 March - 13 April
The UK’s largest film event for children
and families has expanded even more this year, with the
return of screenings to the wonderful Hyde Park Picture
House and a new touring programme visiting venues like
Eureka! In Halifax and Stockroom Cinema in Keighley.
The LYFF Movie Club continues at
Carriageworks until Friday this week where parents can
enjoy some well-deserved time off and children (8+) are
invited to special film screenings and a hands-on
adventure through the entire filmmaking process, led by
Screen Yorkshire. Children can also discover the world
of virtual reality with free VR sessions at Leeds City
Museum until 7 April.

OUR CINEMA COULD BE YOUR LIFE AT
SHOWROOM CINEMA

LIFF recommends a special film season at
Showroom Cinema in Sheffield this weekend that
celebrates the bands featured in Michael Azerrad’s book
Our Band Could Be Your Life. The season opens with a
special double bill of We Jam Econo: The Story of the
Minutemen followed by a Q&A with Azerrad, and Kurt
Cobain: About a Son marking the 30th anniversary of the
Nirvana singer’s tragic suicide.
Other highlights include 1991: The Year
Punk Broke, Freakscene: The Story of Dinosaur Jr,
Cameron Crowe’s Singles, and Jem Cohen’s highly
acclaimed film about Fugazi, Instrument. Plus there is
a party on 6 April in the Showroom bar, featuring music
from the films and wider scene.

most important festivals in the Sikh calendar, takes
place on Saturday 20 April. The Sikh community will
leave the Sikh temple at 10.30am and pass through
Chapeltown on floats before arriving at Millennium
Square at 1.30pm, where there will be music, food and
martial arts displays until 3.30pm.

a solo play by Matt Fox, based on the true story of a
former soldier, Adam, struggling with post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD). The play follows Adam as he recounts his
experiences in war, the horrors he witnessed, and the heavy
toll this took on him. Battle Cry is a
powerful and moving exploration of the human cost of war,
and a reminder of the devastating impact PTSD can have on
those who experience it.
A challenging and thought-provoking play which
has been received to universal acclaim by both veteran and
non-veteran audiences.
