The weather may be pretty grim out there
but nothing stops the creativity from flowing in Kirklees … have a
scroll through our newsletter and let’s see if we can brighten things
up a bit and get you to enjoy some of the fabulous creative offerings
taking place here on our doorstep.
The
Kirklees Music Cities Forum takes place next week
(Tues 14 Nov). Be sure to book your place at the Smile Bar &
Venue for this fantastic event for creative people from all aspects
of the Kirklees music scene. There’ll be a fun vibe, with
engaging talks from top speakers from across the globe, with
informative sessions, debate and networking, plus an amazing
performance by Fishing For Compliments to wrap up the event.
Enjoy a free,
family-friendly festive day out at the Huddersfield
Christmas Lights Switch On on Saturday 18
November. With a full afternoon of live music on the Kirklees
Year of Music stage, festive entertainment and activities and more
than 60 stalls offering the best of Yorkshire's festive goods, food
and drinks followed by the Light Switch on at 6pm, this is one
seasonal celebration you don’t want to miss.
If you weren't lucky enough
to get tickets for Proper Job’s production of Beowulf which
begins this evening, you can still enjoy the first scene at Byram
Arcade and a 20 minute Viking procession to St Peter's Church for
FREE. (8-11 Nov 7.30pm, except Sat (5.30pm & 8.00pm)

begins on 17 November bringing ten days of new and experimental music
to Huddersfield and the Holmfirth
Film Festival continues until 26 November rolling
