Harewood

A packed family programme for 2023

Family events and activities

Something new for families every month

We love seeing children picnic on Harewood's lawns, clamber around the Adventure Playground, race around the Woodland Wonderland and be inspired by the history and art in the House. So we're delighted to announce a whole year of fun for your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews (which we suspect the grown ups will enjoy too)!

We'll be starting two new monthly clubs, celebrating the Coronation and Harvest, digging up Harewood's medieval past, watching red kites soar in the skies, meeting Buddhist monks and much more. With a new theme, activity or event to experience every month – much of which will be included in your day ticket – there's so much to enjoy at Harewood this year.

Plus in a few weeks, we'll be announcing this year's Christmas theme! You can look forward to a family-friendly festive season that in true Harewood fashion, is completely different to anything we've done before...

If you like the look of this year's programme, don't forget that Membership is the best way to enjoy Harewood through all four seasons. Membership pays for itself within three visits and directly supports the charitable work of Harewood House Trust.

We can't wait to see you soon.

THIS WEEK'S BREAK-EVEN LIQUID

Glengoyne 21 Year Old

We we’re saving this for Burns night but what the hell. Its too delicious to sit on a shelf. Matured predominantly in first fill European Sherry casks, this dram has an abundance of rich, fruity notes with an exceptionally long finish. Although distilled in the Highlands, making Glengoyne a Highland single malt, the whisky is matured in the Lowlands. This is because the distillery itself sits upon the Highland Line, the division between the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland which splits the distillery in two.

Our Price £7.11
Usual Price £32.21
Cheers!

Places to visit in the Kent Downs
Looking for inspiration for your next adventure in the Downs? Look no further! Remember to respect, protect and enjoy our incredible landscape.

Godmersham
The village of Godmersham is situated on the A28 between Ashford and Canterbury.

Take a walk around this small village, a place that was often visited by Jane Austen when she stayed with her brother, Edward, at Godmersham Park.

It is said this is where she took her inspiration for Emma, Pride and Prejudice and Mansfield Park from. The house isn't open to the public, however a footpath runs through the estate offering views of the house.

News from The North Downs Way

Cutting across the Kent Downs AONB, the North Downs Way is 153 miles long and one of England's most accessible national trails.

Last month, our North Downs Way National Trail Manager, Peter Morris, spent a day with one of our North Downs Way Ambassador, Gini Mitchell, discovering the barriers people with restricted mobility face when accessing the countryside. And boy, what an eye-opener it turned out to be! Find out how Peter and Gini got on in our latest blog post.

Test riding the Riders' Route

The new North Downs Way Riders' Route launched at the end of 2022, with enhancements to the national trail now making it accessible for those exploring by bike.

Check out this first-hand account of the new route from a couple of pros - Jo Vecchio and partner Claire Frecknall, after they test rode the entire route from Farnham to Dover in December:

"We were impressed with just how fantastically quiet the route was, how tough it was in some parts and we can’t wait to come back and do it all again in the summer. "
