What's on at Pictureville

Happy New Year, and welcome to our weekly film listings; we hope you had a fantastic winter break. Why not kick off 2023 with a film about the arts – pop music in I Wanna Dance With Somebody, classical music in Tár, or cinema itself in Empire of Light. Or dive into the dangerous world of the early Thirties with our upcoming season of pre-censorship Hollywood movies.

PRE-CODE HOLLYWOOD: RULES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN

Pre-Code Hollywood

The moral backbone and happy ending of the Hollywood movie has been universally-received wisdom for decades. But before the censors came along and introduced the Hays Code guidelines in 1934, there were a few years where thrillingly edgy and risqué flicks, starring the likes of Clark Gable, James Cagney and Norma Shearer as greedy criminals and promiscuous libertines, were the talk of the town.

In this new touring season of five restored films, Pre-Code Hollywood: Rules are Made to be Broken, experience the wild, dangerous period of the early '30s; when crime did pay, the bad guy got the girl in the end, and you really could get away with murder.

We're pleased to present the films in this season at a discounted ticket price. And if you can't get enough of that artwork, follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram – there'll be posters and free tickets to be won.

Ireland in Spring

A New Year for Adventures

Hi

A new year is like a blank canvas, offering the boundless promise of adventures and experiences. It is a time for new beginnings, goals, and resolutions.

Popular New Year’s resolutions often include travelling to dream destinations, getting outdoors more, and living life to the fullest. This year, why not do all this and more with a trip to Ireland?

We’ve included a few of our favourites below, all with availability in the spring. All that remains is to choose which adventure to look forward to over the coming months.
