With thanks to Country and Townhouse, here are five things to do in London this week:
|
To party or not to
party? That is the question many are wrestling with currently. I’m glad to
say that C&TH did manage a wonderful get-together last week (all Covid
tested) and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Human togetherness is what it
means to be alive – sharing good food, good drink and good cheer,
especially when a storm is giving us a good lashing outside. Here’s to
celebrating, but with consideration, care and humility.
Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

COOKING
WITH THOMASINA MIERS
Thomasina is the latest chef to join the marvellous Create
Academy’s roster of professional superstars, who, through a
series of online episodes, invite you to up your own game with them. With
Tommi, you’ll be virtually invited into her kitchen to learn her inimitable
ways on how to whip up sustainable, seasonal feasts.

ALICE MARY
LYNCH'S WHIMSICAL CREATIONS
Somerset artist Alice
Mary Lynch trained in fashion design and now creates whimsical
characters with vintage textiles. To call them dolls would be a disservice,
they are fantastical works of art and heirlooms to be passed down the
generations. I just love them. She also makes lovely Christmas cards and
tree decorations.

THE
MEMENTO APP
With families split up all over the world, I’ve taken to using the Memento
app to celebrate milestone birthdays. You can organise for
all your friends to record a little Happy Birthday video on the app. They
then hit upload and it super easily creates a gorgeous group video for you
to surprise the birthday boy or girl with. It’s a big step up from the
eCard.
