The
Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra
A
Glorious Return
|
|
The stars of the Great
Yorkshire Proms and Queen
Symphonic will be supported by the newly
revived Yorkshire
Symphony Orchestra, specifically created to support
Northern musicians hit hard by the pandemic.
The
Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra was disbanded in 1955, and
its return is backed by literary legend, Alan Bennett.
It’s been a long time coming, and Yorkshire deserves its own
orchestra now more than ever.
This is
your chance to join in a historic night, as they
make their debut 74 years after the orchestra first formed.
“When I was a boy in the ‘40s
I was a fan of the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, going to concerts
sometimes twice a week. A lifetime later I am happy to be its
Honorary Patron. Orchestras need fans. Come and listen.” – Alan Bennett
