Victoria Park, Keighley: Saturday 21st
August
Free entry, no
need to book! Join us for a day of family fun!
Bradford Literature Festival's next Family Fun Day
takes place in Victoria Park, Keighley on
Saturday 21st August. With activities starting at 10.30am join
us for a fabulous day out!
We have storytelling, live theatre and music, creative workshops
and craft sessions, some wonderful walkabout characters, a book
hunt, family funfair and more. Highlights include:
The
Magician's Monster
Award winning family theatre company Wrongsemble will be performing
a magical musical pop up adventure. Join us for The Magician's Monster,
which has all the fun and magic of the circus.
Nature
Quest and Look for a Book!
Bradford Stories will be hiding books for you to find! Keep your
eyes peeled and you might receive a free book to enjoy. You'll also
be able to pick up your free Nature Quest activity, which will take
you on an adventure through the park.
An
alternative Peter Pan!
Cecil Green Arts will be running clay model making workshops
inspired by the Peter Pan statue in Lister Park. You can
make your own fantastical creature and the wonderful animals will
all come together as part of a special installation at Lister Park
at our final event on 4th September. What will you make?

Storytelling
Sita Brand will be leading interactive storytelling sessions to
engage children in a love of literature.
Craft
sessions
Morwenna Catt will be hosting a drop-in craft making station where
you can make fun, playful crafts inspired by the Wrongsemble shows.
Peter Pan
Puppet Pandemonium!
We are pleased to welcome a special crafts session from the Bronte
Parsonage Museum. The Bronte’s loved to create their own worlds of
imagination, of adventures on the high seas and fantastical
characters – they would surely have loved Captain Hook! Join us to
bring a character from Peter Pan to life, by creating your own
puppet to take home, with wings that flap, or jaws that snap!
Live music
Mr Wilson's Second Liners will be playing high energy music that
can be enjoyed by the whole family, and internationally renowned
singer songwriter Hussnain Lahori will play a set of Asian-fusion
songs and instrumentals.
And
more!
Learn the skills of the circus including plate spinning, juggling,
poi and diabolo with Open Source Arts. Leeds Dance Studio will be
inviting children to get active in their dance workshop and our
youngest visitors can take part in a baby rave with Boom Chikka
Boom.
We hope to see you there!
Over the
summer we're running a further two Family Fun Days:
Peel Park -
Saturday 28th August
Lister Park -
Saturday 4th September
