Creative Kirklees Newsletter 10 August 2021

Hi everyone, and welcome again to your weekly creative catch up!

Temporary Contemporary are bringing a Day of Creativity to the Piazza Shopping Centre in Huddersfield this Saturday (14 August, 10am-4pm) where there will be a range of art demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops and more, with some lovely indoor and outdoor activities for children and families. All activities are FREE except for a Carnival Workshop and booking is required for some sessions.

In addition to their ‘Mindful Craft Evenings’ this August, where you can chill, chat and craft, Growing Works are joined at their allotment in Dalton by Hoot Creative Arts for two more relaxing evenings of song writing and music making at their ‘Mindful Music Sessions’.

Effortless Productivity for Long Term Funding Success’ is the theme of the next free online funding guidance workshop being offered to those thinking of putting on events for the Year of Music 2023 and will be held next Tuesday evening (17 Aug); repeated on Wednesday afternoon (18 Aug). You can book anytime up until the time of the workshop.

Just to mention also to those who might have received funding from the Arts Council’s Culture Recovery Fund, their Continuity Support Programme opens for applications on Monday 16 August (closes on 27 August) and is aimed at supporting those cultural organisations that received funding from the Culture Recovery Fund but are in need of additional financial support to help them transition back to full operation as the country begins to emerge from the pandemic.

Have a good week everyone and remember you can find lots more activities on our website!
