The Liberty Tree @ Seven
In an exciting
departure for Seven, tomorrow, Wednesday
7 June, 7pm, look forward to Chinese Jazz and Funk.
The highlight of this highly accessible concert is the interplay
between Chinese elements and jazz and funk music, performed by a
Chinese young musician and composer of the work, Jon and LUV band from
Leeds. £10 /£7

that try men's souls'. Thomas Paine. On this post-election
day, Friday 9 May,
7.30pm, we welcome to Seven Robb Johnson and Leon
Rosselson, ‘A highly subversive pairing of two of the
left’s most eloquent songwriters’. The Liberty Tree tells the
story of Tom Paine's extraordinary life, interweaving Paine's own
words, from his letters and the pamphlets that made him one of the most
influential writers of his age.

On Saturday 10 June,
8.30pm, TumbleweedAmericana presents Carrie Elkin with Danny
Schmidt. Elkin is a defining new voice in the world of Texas
singer-songwriters. The power of her live performances has been
creating an incredible buzz around this young artist and Schmidt
has been rapidly ascending from underground cult hero status to artist
of generational significance. £11

On Sunday 11 June,
7.30pm,18 talented local performers and singers present Songs With A Story.
They have been working with award-winning Director, Anita Adams and
this concert showcases some fabulous musical theatre story songs from
Andrew Lloyd Webber, Boublil and Schonberg to Sondheim, and some
lesser known pieces. £9

On Monday 12 June,
8pm, the Screen Seven film is West, directed
by Christian Schwochow.. East Germany. Summer, late 70's. Three
years after her boyfriend Wassilij's apparent death, Nelly Senff
decides to escape from behind the Berlin wall with her son Alexej.
Pretending to marry a West German, she crosses the border to start a
new life in the West. But soon her past starts to haunt her as the
Allied Secret Service begin to question Wassilij's mysterious
disappearance. £ 6 /

Seven Live presents The
Best In Local Talent on
Wednesday 14 June, 8pm. This month pianist,
singer-songwriter and engaging entertainer, Ric Neale; singer, guitar
virtuoso, arranger and composer, Toby Noble; experienced and dynamic
band, Little Mistakes and lively and uplifting group, with sweet vocal
harmonies, The Bean Train Gang. £6
on the door.
On Thursday 15 June,
8pm, the Seven Jazz Leeds concert is the Nicola Farnon Quartet with
Dave Newton. Nicola Farnon is widely recognised as one of
the classiest jazz and swing musicians in the UK. Tonight she is
accompanied by pianist and jazz legend Professor Dave Newton. £16 / £14 conc. Doors 7.30pm.

Williams This collaboration between two classy and
