March, 8pm, look forward to Ubunye
Imagine the raw power of African voices in harmony; the pounding
rhythm of Africa blended with the explosive energy of a live band. This
young and vibrant group of Zulu performers and seasoned musicians from
UK reach back into the past to combine ancient tradition with
contemporary flare. £10/£8 conc.

On Saturday 11
March, 8pm, a welcome return for Roger Davies & His Band
In Concert. Engaging songwriter through four solo albums
appearing in concert with his new four-piece band. Get set for a
dynamic live presentation of Roger’s signature songs plus plenty of
brand new material. £10.

In a break of tradition on Sunday
12 March, the Seven Jazz Leeds Sunday concert from 4pm - 7pm is The Latin 'All Done By 7'.
Toco Madera is a Latin jazz sextet based in Leeds, playing a
variety of original compositions and arrangements of popular songs from
both the jazz and pop idioms. With support from Vanessa Rani and the
Seven Arts dancers. £10

The Screen Seven movie on Monday
13 March, 8pm, is Dheepan,
a heartrending saga of three strangers united by circumstance and
struggle, On the losing side of a civil war in Sri Lanka, a Tamil
soldier poses as the husband and father of two other refugees in order
to escape their ravaged homeland. Arriving in France, the makeshift
“family” sets about establishing a new life-only to find themselves
once again embroiled in violence on the mean streets of Paris. £6 / £5 conc. Subtitles.
On Tuesday 14 March,
7.30pm, is Scratch Night,
an informal chance for theatre-makers, choreographers, spoken word
artists, musicians, comedians, writers and performers to showcase new
work in front of a live audience and for an audience to experience work
in progress. Four Artists/ Companies will present work of 15-25

On Wednesday 15 March,
7.30pm, is panel-led discussion, Leeds Jewish Literary
Festival - What Does Culture Mean To You? This is a in
anticipation of the Leeds bid for European Capital of Culture 2023,
chaired by Andrew Edwards from Radio 1 Leeds. Free Event. Also
on Wednesday 15
March 6-7pm in the bar is Rush Hour Jazz
featuring Ros Lewis and the Seven Jazz Trio. Donations.
On Thursday 16
March, 7.30pm, KNOCK KNOCK, Niv
Petel’s solo show, draws back the thick curtain of politics in the
Middle East to celebrate the life, laughter, joy and love of a mother
and her only son, in a place where every child is duty bound to become
a soldier and every parent has an army uniform in the attic. £12
Rounding off the week on Friday
17 March, 7.30pm, South Asian Arts UK presents Voice of the Violin –
Shreya Devnat, a seamless blend of composed and improvised
music, drawn from the diverse cultures of South India. £10 / £6 conc.
