A lawyer (Laura Dern) tries to diffuse a hostage situation and calm her disgruntled client (Jared Harris), who feels slighted by a workers' compensation settlement. A married couple (Michelle Williamsand James Le Gros) breaks ground on a new home but exposes marital fissures when they try to persuade an elderly man to sell his stockpile of sandstone. A ranch hand (Lily Gladstone) forms an attachment to a young lawyer (Kristen Stewart), who inadvertently finds herself teaching a twice-weekly adult education class, four hours from her home. From the director of Old Joy and Meek's Cutoff, Certain Women won the Best Film award at last month's BFI London Film Festival. Directed by Yann Samuell                        2011                 1hr 49mins In French, with English subtitles     You'll recall we had hoped to screen Back to Mum's (Retour Chez Ma Mere) on Wednesday 2nd November, but the distributor of this film has made it unavailable until 2017.  We hope to screen it in February 2017 ... if they will let us !     WEDNESDAY 8th March 2017    2pm     SHOWING IN CONJUNCTION WITH BANKFIELD MUSEUM'S WILD WEST EXHIBITION We're very pleased to host a very rare screening of The Grey Fox, a Canadian film starring the peerless Richard Farnsworth (the Natural, the Straight Story). When an aging, but gentlemanly stagecoach robber is released from prison, he decides to go to Canada to become a train robber.
