Newcastle Writing Conference 2015: Do it Yourself
6 June 2015, Newcastle upon Tyne

Dear Karen,
As you recently submitted work to New Writing North, we thought you might be interested to know that we are producing a one-day writing conference this spring.

Newcastle Writing Conference is organised by New Writing North and our partners Northumbria University to provide professional development and networking opportunities for working writers in the North of England.

In 2015, there are more opportunities and challenges for writers than ever before. This is an exciting time and we want to demonstrate to writers the many ways they can advance their own careers.

Our ‘Do it Yourself’ conference will show you how to navigate the new rules of publishing (while remembering that many of the old rules still apply). From using digital platforms to engage with readers, to exploring non-traditional publishing routes, to identifying what today’s editors look for, this conference is all about what you can do for yourself.

Aimed at new and emerging writers of fiction, as well as more established writers wanting to embrace the digital age, the conference will explore trends in publishing, identify new markets for writing, and support authors to make connections with each other and with industry insiders.
Our confirmed programme includes a raft of authors and publishing industry experts, including Carnegie Medal-winner Meg Rosoff, editor Francesca Main, literary agents Jo Unwin and Mark Stanton, blogger Savidge Reads, vlogger Books and Quills, publicists, social media professionals, self-publishing and crowd funding experts, and many more!

See the full programme and order tickets via Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.com/e/newcastle-writing-conference-2015-do-it-yourself-tickets-15833220589?aff=efbevent.
We hope to see you there!
New Writing North
