Creative
Kirklees Newsletter - 12 May 2015
|
Do you
have a story to tell about Creative Kirklees; a collaboration made, an
event visited or an opportunity spotted? Creative Kirklees will be
one year old on 30 May and we’d like to hear some stories of those of you
who use it, whether as an artist, creative business or audience.
Tell us how you use the site, what your story is and send a quote for our
press release. Please email arts.creativity@kirklees.gov.uk by
Tuesday 19 May.
Creative
activities are continuing to flow this weekend with a variety of things
to do and see. Shepley
Spring Festival is running from Friday to Sunday, celebrating the
very best of traditional music, song and dance. Also, on Friday evening,
South Asian Arts Company, Mansamitra bring Shivoham,
a unique musical experience to Huddersfield Art Gallery.
If you
fancy learning a new creative skill, why not look into
Globe Arts’ 6 week fused glass course - alternatively they are
running various visual art courses and classes throughout the summer
which might tempt you.
And, to
give you notice, after great success last year, The
Grand Northern Ukulele Festival returns to Huddersfield from Friday
22 May to Sunday 24 May.
Oh and
don’t forget if you have a creative event or project that requires funding,
the Kirklees Community
Events and Arts in the
Neighbourhood Funds are currently open for applications.
The
above is just a taster of what is happening - there are many more
creative activities and opportunities going on – take a look at Creative Kirklees now.
