Latest News from Ilkley Literature Festival
 
The 2013 Festival was our biggest ever, with audience numbers reaching the 26,500 mark! Thank you to everyone who made the 17 days so fantastic.
 
While the Festival is over for another year there is still plenty happening in the ILF office. We're looking ahead to 2014 and have two exciting freelance roles which need filling, we'll have special one off events, such as the recent We Love Stories day, over the year and if you'd like to know more about the Festival's history - pop down to the Manor House Museum before the end of November!
 
 
 
 
    
Freelance roles with the Festival...
 
Ilkley Literature Festival is currently looking to fill two freelance roles:
 
- a workshop leader to deliver our new weekly Saturday morning children's book group
- a coordinator for our first ever Poetry in the City Weekend taking place in  Bradford in  June 2014
 
We'd be very grateful if you could help us spread the word to anyone who might be interested.

We Love Stories
 
Thank you to everyone who visited us during We Love Stories at Leeds City Museum.
 
We had a great time with The Grammar School at Leeds at this free family fun day.
 
The day was packed full of activities devoted to books and stories, including storytelling and illustrating, crafts, face painting, competitions and Chol Theatre’s inflatable pod. 
 
Visitors especially enjoyed our illustration workshops with Stephen Waterhouse - look out for Stephen's artwork on this year's Divine Chocolate Advent Calendars!
 
 
 
 
 
 
    
SI Leeds Literary Prize 2014
 
Our partners at the SI Leeds Literary Prize are looking for a Prize Advocate to help in raising the profile of the Prize and its shortlisted writers and winners.

Closing date for applications:
Monday 25 November 2013.
 
The 2014 SI Leeds Literary Prize for unpublished fiction by Black and Asian women was launched at the 2013 Festival with Bernardine Evaristo and 2012's winning writer Minoli Salgado.
 
Submissions for the 2014 Prize will be accepted online from 1 December 2013, with a closing deadline of 31 March 2014.
