Red Planet Prize

The Red Planet Prize is open for submissions of scripts, please find details below:

THE RED PLANET PRIZE in partnership with
KUDOS FILM AND TELEVISION
First launched in 2007, the competition can already boast unrivalled success in its search for new writing talent with previous winners developing original ideas for both Red Planet and Kudos. Last year’s winner Jonathan Neil was a Broadcast Hot Shot in 2013.

The prize also discovered Robert Thorogood who created Red Planet’s smash hit returning series Death in Paradise for BBC One.  Finalists, have also found writing success, following a stint on the initiative’s mentoring scheme, by joining the writing team of Kudos’ popular children’s drama, MI High and Kudos’ new prime time series for Sky One, The Smoke.

Red Planet Prize 2013
On The Hunt For New Talent Again
- Opens 11th November 2013 -
Finding, nurturing and investing in new writing talent is at the heart of the Red Planet Prize: the winner receiving a £5,000 cash prize and all the finalists enjoying the benefit of both Indies’ knowledge and experience through a structured scheme. Red Planet Pictures and Kudos are currently mentoring many new writers found through the initiative with over a dozen previous winners and finalists developing projects with both companies.
The competition is open to anyone in the UK and Eire. Entrants must upload the first ten pages of an original  60 minute script for TV along with a short synopsis; this can be a single play or a pilot for a series. Entries written by more than one person can be made. Only one submission per author will be accepted, however, if you have submitted a joint entry you are also permitted to enter once individually.  Multiple entries from an individual will result in disqualification.  Should entrants then proceed through to the second phase, they will be asked to submit their full script.  The deadline for round one submissions is the 6th January 2014.
