Bradford BID is bringing a burst of beach‑day energy to the city centre this August. Drop into City Park for free games and creative activities from the giant PlayBox, try oversized games, and settle into a deckchair while children enjoy the fountains nearby. Across the city centre, follow a trail of impressive sand sculptures created by talented artists and placed outside local businesses. - Abi and Marc from Issimo (Saturday, 22 August | 5pm - 7pm) at Darley Street Market - Song writing duo Abi and Marc bring their acclaimed Issimo project to Darley Street Kitchen for an afternoon of beautifully crafted acoustic music, blending rich harmonies, compelling storytelling and songs shaped by their experiences performing around the world.
- Bradford Family Film Festival - Horton Hears A Who! Here's what's coming up: - NoteAbility Concert Band (Sunday, 23 August | 2pm - 3pm) at Cliffe Castle Museum - A long‑established ensemble based in Wrose near Shipley. The band began life in 1977 as the Bradford Metropolitan Band, formed to bring together the most capable young players from the Bradford Metropolitan Concert Band. Over the decades, they have built a strong reputation across the district, performing close to a thousand concerts and collecting numerous awards, including multiple wins at both the Robertshaw Music Festival and the Wharfedale Festival.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service will be showcasing specialist water rescue equipment and conducting in-water demonstrations and sharing life-saving advice to help people understand what to do if they get into difficulty in water and how to help others. Learn about water safety skills from the Float to Live and Phone, Float Throw campaigns through interactive demonstrations and family activities. Harmonic Fields Wednesday, 9 September - Sunday, 13 September (12pm - 6pm) on Baildon Moor FREE Baildon Moor becomes the stage for an orchestra of hundreds of wind and nature-powered instruments. The brainchild of composer Pierre Sauvageot, Harmonic Fields has previously been presented in Copenhagen, Marseille and Helsinki, and now comes to the West Yorkshire moorlands for the very first time. An array of woodwind, string and percussive ensembles; vibrating drums, windmill xylophones, harmonic cellos, bamboo flutes, propeller sirens, gyrating musical boxes – will be played by both the elements and ‘wind farmer’ characters. You’ll be able to wander through the landscape, pausing to listen to this unique symphonic experience with the magnificent rural backdrop of Baildon Moor, offering 360-degree views across Bradford district. Heritage Open Days Friday, 11 September - Sunday, 20 September across the district FREE Every September, thousands of volunteers organise events across England to celebrate its rich history and culture.
