THIS SATURDAY!!
We are so excited to welcome you
to our 10th Christmas Fayre on Saturday 5th December
12-4pm. FOUR MORE SLEEPS!
And this year we’re teaming up with our friends at Holbeck Gala
so it should be doubly belting.
As Leeds is in Tier 3, the event will look a little different to
previous years but it will still be packed with lots of festive
fun to kick off the season in style.
This year’s fayre is outside in the car park of The Holbeck so
please ensure you come prepared for all weathers!
We have oodles of stalls confirmed with wonderful crafts, bakes,
toys, gifts and creative wares, and we are delighted to welcome
Backstage Brass to entertain us.
We will be operating a one-way system with numerous
hand-sanitising stations throughout the site and we ask that
everyone wears a mask at all times.
Our traditional Pay What You Decide hog roast will be available
as a takeaway as you exit the grounds.
We’re encouraging people to walk, wheel or cycle to the event
wherever possible.
If you are arriving by car we recommend parking for free on
Holbeck Moor Road.
Please note the streets around the Club are Permit only and we
would hate for you to get a ticket.
If you have specific questions about the event please message
Ruth directly on middleton@slunglow.org
We think this year, more than ever before, we need something
special to kick-start the festive period and we are so delighted
you are going to be a part of it!
See you Saturday!

'Opera North has hit on
a magic formula: the concert staging...
It’s viscerally effective because it is
sung and played with such conviction'
—
Sunday Times on Aida, 2019
Live
from Leeds Town Hall, we're streaming
our dramatic concert performance of
Beethoven's famed Fidelio.
Conducted by Mark Wigglesworth, a
33-piece orchestra, 24-strong chorus
and star-studded cast combine forces to
tell a tale of liberty, justice and
love that resonates as powerfully today
as ever.
We'll
deliver the drama direct into your home
on Saturday 12 December at 7pm
GMT, or watch on demand for 7 days
for just £15.

A sensational
experience...
Get acquainted with the power of a
concert performance by enjoying
our ★★★★★
production of Wagner's Ring
cycle. Since lockdown, over 138,000

The
triumphant music...
From love duets to a male chorus
singing for freedom, the dramatic

What's on in Edinburgh this
month
All the family can enjoy
a walk in a winter wonderland at Christmas at the Botanics and
Edinburgh
Zoo's Christmas Nights – if you keep your eyes
open, you may just see a certain jolly man who has managed to squeeze in
some down-time before Christmas Eve!
Not in the mood for
going out? No problem – get toes tapping with Edinburgh
Jazz & Blue Festival, or be amazed at the
art of magic with Edinburgh International Magic
Festival, both of whom are offering a programme
of events delivered entirely virtually.
Timed to mark 100 years
since the dawn of the ‘Roaring Twenties', Bright
Shadows: Scottish Art in the 1920s at the City
Art Centre is a fascinating display of art from a period of social,
political and economic change.
Give a little and help
those most in need this Christmas. Donate a gift to someone who is homeless
or vulnerable and a volunteer will place it under the Tree of Kindness in
St Andrews Square.
