Wage Update

Although most people were previously benefiting from pay rates above or at least $15 an hour, it wasn't guaranteed everywhere. Some people in NYC were still making less than their living costs and working full-time jobs.
Now, the pay rates have been solidified and you can navigate the job market with faith. Learn about the $15 minimum wage and where it's enforced.

Architecture Worries

Are we protected from falling building debris? As a New Yorker, we walk along, beneath and beside large skyscrapers each day.
Do you ever stop to consider how secure the walkways are? After an unfortunate accident with plummeting terra cotta, the citation process for buildings and codes are being called into question.

Graffiti Returns

More recently, reported graffiti markings have increased around subways and on train carts. The street art has long been associated with NYC, especially in areas like 5 Pointz.
As the number of spots hit by graffiti increase so does the amount of money used for cleaning. The MTA allotted a total of $348,000 to clean incidences of tagging, murals and other graffiti in the last year.
