WORD CLUB 16 will take place on Friday
27th May 2016, from 7.30 pm, at The Chemic Tavern, Leeds. Our headliners this
month are Carole Bromley, Wendy Pratt and Gill Lambert. We will be graced by
the presence of some fabulous open micers too so come along and join us. 3
minute Open Mic slots are available on the night on a first come first serve
basis but we usually fit everyone in.
Carole Bromley has two collections with Smith/Doorstop,
'A Guided Tour of the Ice House' (2011) and 'The Stonegate Devil' (2015). She
lives in York where she is the Stanza rep and runs poetry surgeries for The
Poetry Society.

Wendy Pratt was born
in 1978 in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She has enjoyed publication of her
work in many journals and magazines. Her first pamphlet, Nan Hardwick
Turns into a Hare and a full length collection, Museum Pieces,
were published by Prolebooks, her latest pamphlet, Lapstrake, is
published by Flarestack Poets. Wendy won both the York Mix and
Prole Laureate prizes in 2015 and was highly commended in the Forward prize.
She does some mentoring with the womentoring charity, and is poetry
correspondent for Northern Soul. Wendy is currently undertaking an MA in creative
writing with Manchester MMU and a PhD in poetry with Hull university. She has a
lot of rabbits.
Gill Lambert is a poet and trainee teacher from Yorkshire. She's
been published by Indigo Dreams, The Interpreter's House, Beautiful Dragons,
Live From Worktown, PaperSwans Press and online: Clear Poetry, I am Not a
Silent Poet, Fat Damsel. Gill is currently working on her first full
length collection.
