Wakefield Lit Fest is
back for 2016!
We are
delighted to announce that
Wakefield Lit Fest 2016 is back for another year
and takes place from 23
September - 2 October at places and spaces across
the district and city centre. 2016 is a special year for Wakefield
Lit Fest as we celebrate our 5th birthday - programmed by arts
charity Beam and supported by Arts Council England, Wakefield Lit
Fest has become a real highlight in the city's cultural calendar.
The team at Beam are very excited about the city's biggest
and brightest literary festival and hope you are too!
Seed
Funding for Community Events Now Open
The seed fund is a community initiative that enables groups and
individuals to get involved with the festival by producing their
own events. We are now taking proposals for this year's festival so
if you have an idea why not apply?
Be as creative as you like - a spoken word performance, poetry
reading, book launch or anything that celebrates reading, writing
and words - you don't need to have previous experience just
enthusiasm to devise and deliver a great event. We have limited
funding for applications of up to £200 and we're hoping to support
10 events, download the Seed Fund Application

A New
Look for 2016
This year, to mark our 5th anniversary Wakefield Lit Fest has had a
bit of a makeover and we'll be revealing our new festival brand
very soon! We're really proud of Wakefield Lit Fest and how the
festival has developed over recent years and look forward to the
continued support from all our festival partners, supporters,
participants and audiences for 2016.
