Theatre Royal Wakefield call out for cast members for The Wakefield Mysteries (open auditions Sunday 6 March) and Jesus Christ Superstar (open auditions Sunday 13 March):
Theatre
Royal Wakefield is looking for cast members aged 13 - 30 to help bring
to life a brand new, modern day retelling of The Wakefield Mysteries.
In this
striking new production, the series of plays written by the city's
guilds in the middle ages to tell the story of the bible are given a
21st century kick. Rolling news, rap battles, poetry slams and TV
debate mix with the modernised rhyme in this funny and gripping look at
the old and new testaments...and the city's own recent history.
If
you're aged 13 - 30 and think this opportunity might be for you, click here to register to attend the
open auditions at Theatre Royal Wakefield on Sunday 6 March,
where you can find out more about the project.
If you
can't attend this Sunday, there will be further auditions on Sunday 17
April. Alternatively, if you're aged 16+ and are interested in being
part of the technical team or house band, please email jenny.jones@theatreroyalwakefield.co.uk.

Following
the great success of Oliver!, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon and Cats,
Wakefield Youth Music Theatre will stage Jesus Christ Superstar at
Theatre Royal Wakefield this August and September and we're looking for
talented young people to audition.
Jesus
Christ Superstar is a timeless piece of theatre which takes place during
the final weeks of Jesus' life, and follows the events which led to his
betrayal by Judas Iscariot and, ultimately, his crucifixion, all told
though the musical score of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
If you're aged
11 - 21 and think this opportunity might be for you, you're invited to
attend the open auditions at Wakefield College Thornes Park campus on
Sunday 13 March. To register, email jenny.jones@theatreroyalwakefield.co.uk.
