One
Last Waltz @ Seven
Look out for
excellent theatre over the next week at Seven, covering themes as
varied as Alzheimer's from Black Coffee Theatre - One
Last Waltz, rollercoaster ride through the
life of American actor /singer, Call Mr Robeson – A Life,
with Songs, study of an intense relationship
between two brothers from Pagelight Productions –
The Box Of Tricks, and touching connection
between bag lady. and caretaker in Blah Blah Blah - Bag
Dancing.
On Tuesday 20 October,
8pm, Café Psychologique explores
Technology and We: Are We Living With Technology or For It? Introduced by
Terry McAndrew, Academic Development Officer, Higher Education Academy
and hosted by Chris Powell. Chat and think over a drink. £4 on the door.
On Thursday 22
October, 8pm, Seven Jazz presents Alice
Zadawski with support from the Ben Powling /Will Powell
group. Brilliant young jazz vocalist/violinist, Alice Zadawski was
nominated for best female vocalist in the 2015 Parliamentary Awards, her
influences including New Orleans soul, classical training &
improvised music. £16

On Friday 23 October,
8pm, it's Pagelight
Productions - The Box Of Tricks. The play explores
the intense relationship between two brothers. Mike has returned home
following the death of his brother, Sam,in a car accident; unable to
grieve, unable to explain the coldness he feels for a brother he once
loved so much.
£8 adv / £10 otd.
Rounding off the week on Saturday
24 October, 6.30pm, Blah Blah Blah presents
Bag Dancing. Written by internationally celebrated
playwright Mike Kenny, the play explores the touching relationship
between Imelda, a bag lady and Neville, a caretaker. The Blahs create
dynamic participatory theatre with and for children and young people,
using compelling stories to stimulate enquiry and
exploration. Followed by a talk with Mike Kenny. Suitable for 9+. £8
/£5child.
