Huddersfield-based band Stems will be headlining the festival’s launch event on the 23rd October performing to the accompaniment of the 1902 silent movie A Trip to the Moon. If you’ve seen them already you’ll know how good they are – if not then you’re in for a treat! Another treat takes place this weekend with the annual Marsden Jazz Festival. At various locations around the village of Marsden you can find a wide variety of music aimed at audience of all ages - from old school trad jazz to cutting-edge contemporary jazz – it’s all there. Plenty of events are free and you can enjoy a wander round this lovely Yorkshire village. Finally a reminder that Huddersfield Hat is looking to put on another weekend of music, art, performance, anything creative, during the weekend of 4-6 December in Huddersfield. If you’re an artist, musician, performer, crafter, maker, venue or doer in Huddersfield why not put on a creative event?
