WACCL Raises £23,5000 for Wakefield District Children
|
|
Last week, local businesses gathered together in support of
the second Wakefield Annual Charity Christmas Lunch, raising funds for
Theatre Royal Wakefield's Performance Academy and The Community Foundation
for Wakefield district. In 2013 WACCL raised £13,500 for Theatre Royal
Wakefield’s programme of work with young people, this year they raised a
staggering £23,500!
Here’s hoping that WACCL goes from strength to strength for next year and beyond! |
The Wakefield Mysteries Needs You!
The Wakefield Mysteries are a cycle of medieval mystery
dramas, comprising 32 religious pageants in English verse and dramatising key
Biblical stories from The Creation, to The Last Judgement.
We are looking for sixty 13 - 30 year olds to take part in drama/movement workshops which will explore a brand new piece of work that that brings the medieval plays bang up to date. Working closely with the writer and director, participants will take part in fun physical sessions involving voice and character work as well as music and movement elements. Sessions take place in January and February 2015. Read more... |

Theatre Royal Wakefield Gift Appeal
Theatre Royal Wakefield needs your help. Every year the
Pantomime cast go to the childrens burns unit at Pinderfields Hospital to
cheer the children up with presents. We rely soley on donations and this year
Sainsbury's at Trinity Walk have kindly put a trolley out for us. Once again
we are overwhelmed with the generous gifts people have donated but we still
need a few more to make sure we have enough to offer all the children we
visit.
Ages range from toddler to 15 years old so toys, books, DVDs and games make great presents (no food please). If you would like to donate a gift you can do so at Sainsbury's Trinity Walk or bring your gift to our Box Office. Let's put some smiles on children's faces this Christmas! |
