Performance Poetry & Writing for Radio workshops at the Huddersfield Literature Festival Now booking: Performance Poetry Workshops with Rose Condo. Do you enjoy presenting poetry at open mic sessions, but wish you could brush up on your performance techniques? Or...does the thought of performing poetry terrify you, but you secretly wish you could develop some skills?  Theatre instructor Rose Condo will lead a series of Performance Poetry Workshops at the LBT every Monday evening in February 2014.  These fun and informal sessions will offer you the chance to increase your performance skills and build your confidence.  Any level of experience is welcome.  You can use your favourite poem or bring your own writing to work on.  You can also try out your skills at the Talking Zebras Open Mic being held as part of the Huddersfield Literature Festival on Sunday 09 March. Monday 3 February, 7-9pm Breathing and vocal support:  Breath is the source of life, and yet it can be in short supply when we perform.  This session introduces breathing tools and techniques to help calm nerves and support your performance. Monday 10 February, 7-9pm Voice and diction:  Tired of your tongue tripping up over tricky texts?  This session plays with pronunciation to help with precision in presenting poetry. Monday 17 February, 7-9pm Physicality of presentation:  Performers are more than talking heads, and this session gives a few tips on how to stand tall and perform with strong physical presence. Monday 24 February, 7-9pm Text:  According to Coleridge poetry is ‘the best words in the best order.’  This session gives you the chance to perform your ‘best words’ for the workshop group and receive feedback on your performance.
