This week the Yorkshire Fringe Festival takes place across Yorkshire, aiming to promote, celebrate and unite creative voices. Seven has three theatre events as part of the Fringe, which we hope will increase visibility for local talent, and encourage collaboration across the region.

Lost Fox presents Back to Basics, a show of two parts: a collection of five 10-minute script-in-hand plays from emerging writers showcasing their new material, followed by a comedy improv gameshow producing laughs, stories, and more laughs.

Thursday 16th July, 8pm, brings its trademark mix of theatre, comedy, poetry and music back to one of its favourite venues. Expect laughs, heart, and a night full of entertainment!.

Friday 17th July, 7.45pm, ‘A Thing Called Love’, is six monologues about alternative everyday real-life love, not the fairy tale romance stuff! Written and directed by Lee Saunders.

Rush Hour Jazz – Emily Brown, a hugely popular jazz singer with a gift for harmonic risk-taking. Expect to hear jazz, blues, soul and some ear-opening detours – all classics delivered in Emily’s soul-enlarging style. With the JazzLeeds Trio.

Thursday 16th July, 6– 8 pm. Best known for his work with Leeds based legend Mik Artistik, and acoustic roots band Colour Of Light, Jonny has carved a path on the guitar as an individual voice.

Summer Saturdays – The Bondurants, Alt-Country/Pop/Rock quintet formed in 2011. Over the past 12 years the strong friendship among the band members has allowed them to sharpen their songwriting and live performance skills, with a dedicated fanbase.

Sunday 19th July 1.30 - 4pm,
JazzLeeds – Tribute to Hermeto Pascoal with drummer Miles Pillinger and bassist Fergus Quill. It would have been his 90th birthday this year of Hermeto Pascoal. A Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist, Pascoal was best known in Brazilian music for his orchestration and improvisation, played here by a stellar line-up of musicians.
