Latest Events, News & Opportunities

Wednesday, August 6th

Welcome to our fortnightly round-up of the incredible artistic and cultural happenings taking place across our communities over the next few weeks.

Summer in Kirklees is literally bursting with creativity, whether you're into crafts, music, theatre, or simply looking for something fun to do with the kids, there is something inspiring to do for everyone.

Something delicious is coming to Huddersfield on Friday 15 August when a new food and drink experience “Foodie Fest” will take place at the Outdoor Market space in Brook Street, where you can expect bakers, baristas, brewers, cheesemakers, crafts & gifts, artist performances and more – the perfect event for foodies, friends & families!

There’s a great opportunity with Proper Job Theatre Company who are looking for enthusiastic freelance facilitators to join their team. If you’re passionate about using drama and theatre to engage and support adult learners, they’d love to hear from you.

Looking to September, we will see the return of the Kirklees Concert Season, bringing a spectacular line-up of world-class performances to your doorstep. From stirring symphonies and enchanting chamber music to vibrant lunchtime recitals, this season promises unforgettable moments for music lovers of all ages. Season packages are still available which allow you to see more concerts for less money!  Worth noting too, that at the opening organ concert on Monday 8 Septemberthere is a fabulous opportunity for audience members to have a go on the organ themselves after the concert in celebration of Play the Organ Year 2025!

We have so many more events and activities, opportunities and news to tell you about, please scroll down and do check our websites for even more!
