We hope you’ve been enjoying this wonderful spring sunshine!
We’re in the busy planning stages for this year’s Festival, with some exciting authors and speakers being lined up by our artistic director Kate Abbey. We’ve got even more opportunities for local authors this year; so if you, or someone you know, is a keen writer at any stage of their career, keep an eye on our website and social media for updates.
Some key dates for your diaries:
Our Festival Read will be announced at the beginning of June – we think you’re going to love this one! Tickets will be on sale on June 16
July 14 - tickets on sale to Festival Friends
Tickets on general sale - July 21
September 17 – our Festival begins
This year we are welcoming East Devon caterers Pickle Shack to our Marquee on the Green. As well as keeping us all supplied with delicious food throughout Festival week, they will be staging a pop-up dining night – so watch out for details of that!
And finally, we hope you love this year’s artwork as much as we do. It is an image of a heron at Elizabeth Bridge which has been created from a pictorial quilt sewn by Brenda Thomas. You can find this and a selection of Brenda’s other textile art at her Coastal Threads exhibition at Fairlynch Museum until October 31.
Please feel free to share our newsletter with anyone who you think might be interested in Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival and follow us on social media - we’re on Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky and LinkedIn.
We’ll be in touch again next month with more details and we look forward to seeing you in September.
The Budleigh Lit Fest Team!
PS - Our friends over at Budleigh Music Festival have a wonderful range of concerts planned for their Festival, which begins on June 27. Take a look at their website - www.budleighmusicfestival.co.uk
