Creative Kirklees
Latest Events, News and Opportunities

Wednesday, April 16th

We hope you've been enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having and if you haven't yet had chance to join any of the Easter activities taking place around the district, there are still plenty to choose from.

As mentioned in our last newsletter, Spring Garden takes place this Friday and Saturday (18 & 19 April) and will see the Creative Piazza in Huddersfield bloom into a new season with events from all the Creative Piazza organisations including workshops, exhibitions, family activities and displays.

May is a fabulous month for local Festivals in the area. First we have the Huddersfield Literature Festival which runs from 8-18 May, then the Holmfirth Festival of Folk takes place over the 9-11 May weekend and later in the month the &Piano Festival is back taking place from 17-24 May, and not forgetting the Holmfirth Film Festival Spring Season which is still running.

Then, with Woven in Kirklees taking place throughout the month of June and Kirklees Pride taking place on Saturday 7 June there is a lot to look forward to Festival wise!

Finally, for anyone who organises events, we would like to draw your attention to the News article on Martyn’s Law, which received Royal Assent on Thursday 3 April 2025.  This Act delivers the Government’s manifesto commitment to strengthen the security of public premises and events.

Please do keep checking our websites as content is added daily and we don’t want you to miss out on anything!
