Good Grief @ Seven

Firstly, heads up for a production from Soho Theatre, London's most vibrant venue for new theatre, comedy and cabaret. Jacke Rooke : Good Grief comes to Seven on Friday 28 April, 7.30pm. For 2 for 1 ticket offer, use code GRIEF241 More details below.
 
On Monday 24 April 8pm, Screen Seven presents selected films from the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2016. The ASSF awards recognise outstanding talent in filmmaking practice. This is a selection of the winning films. Films include : dramas - Mast Qalandar,  Dust & resin,  Mother; comedy - Rhonna & Donna; animation - Mr Madila and documentary - Elders. Total playlist lasts 1 hour 10 mins. £6 / £5 conc.

The Café Psychologique topic on Tuesday 25 April, 8pm, is Burnout : the Effects of Chronic Stress and how to Slow Down and Recharge, introduced by Sally Rose, Psychotherapist & Mindfulness Teacher, and hosted by Chris Powell, Group Analyst. Sounds like the session we all need. £4 otd.

On Wednesday 26 April, 8pm, Kill for a Seat Comedy presents Abigoliah Schamaun and Scott Bennett. Schamaun has been named one of the “Top 5 Up and Coming Female Comedians” by The List, and Scott Bennett, “An hilarious act, brilliantly worded observations” Plymouth Herald …plus special guests and your rib-tickling host, Silky. £11 / £9 conc. Doors 7.45pm.

Seven Jazz Leeds on Thursday 27 April, 8pm, is the fabulous Dudley Nesbitt with the Leeds College of Music Jazz Orchestra. Leeds own steel pan maestro Dudley Nesbitt has been rehearsing with the Jazz Orchestra to create a programme showcasing the jazz steel pan. He was arranger for Steel Orchestras in Panorama – the Trinidad equivalent of the Proms –  an extremely prestigious musical position. £16/£14 conc. Drs  7.30pm.

On Friday 28 April, 7.30pm, Soho Theatre & Jack Rooke present Jack Rooke : Good Grief   With a coffin full of sympathy snacks, Jack Rooke and his 85-year old Nan Sicely invite you to the happiest town in Britain, where Dad’s dead and the only thing to eat is lasagne. Celebrating finding happiness after tragedy, Rooke’s critically acclaimed debut blends comedy, storytelling and film. £12 /£10 conc.
